Nothing’s a better cure for writer’s block than to eat ice cream right out of the carton. ~ Don Roff

“All right Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.”
The new family member: half Maremma Sheepdog/half Border Collie. All cute.
Berry once punched Keith Richards in the face for tapping him on the shoulder, and has a reputation for being both ornery and withdrawn, but today he isn’t either of those things. He’s gracious, in a southern sort of way. Pleased to meet you. He shakes hands and his hands swallow up the hands of his guest. He once was as handsome as Elvis, and he’s still got a great face, and eyes that don’t seem so much cruel or aloof as just kind of wry and sharp and maybe a bit amused, like he’s in on some sort of joke.
Great article from Esquire on Chuck Berry, who’s still alive, still performing, and recording songs that he doesn’t want you to hear.

This is a fun interview with author and screenwriter Don Roff:
Roff grew up in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. He worked at the local drive-in theater and made Super 8 mm movies with his neighborhood friends, writing many of the scripts. He graduated from McLoughlin Union High School in 1985. Roff joined the United States Army in 1989. He was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia in the 3rd Ranger Battalion. He was a part of “Operation Just Cause” in Rio Hato, Panama, December 20, 1989. Roff graduated from Walla Walla Community College in 1995 and The Evergreen State College in 1997. In June 2006, Roff received the prestigious Zola Award for screenwriting from the Pacific Northwest Writers Association for his science fiction adventure script, OUTBOUND. He is a monthly columnist for Forces of Geek (www.forcesofgeek.com) and is the Senior Editor and book reviewer for the bi-monthly Tactical MilSim Magazine (www.tacticalmilsim.com). Roff’s latest book, ZOMBIES: A RECORD OF THE YEAR OF INFECTION is available now from Chronicle Books.
for the first review of the site let’s keep a trend going. zombies. the undead. they want your flesh. crave it. are driven and defined by eating it. while some of you may wish to have you own fight over zombie canon being separate from actual “viral outbreak” canon (see: night of the living dead vs. 28 days later), we will argue that crazy conversation at a later date. lets just go over this “biological diary account” under the assumption that some sort of infection explains the undead status of day walkers. alright? great!
A dilapitated castle with crumbling battlements on a jagged mountain with a narrow twisted winding road ascending to the top. Some people would call it hell, I’d call it home (with or without the flashy neon Evil Scientist sign.
